How matchplay works:
Players receive points by winning individual holes. The player with the most points wins the match. A tie on a hole is a push. This does not carry over to following holes. You must win a hole outright to add it to your total.
How much?
$20 in advance to enter the tournament. Pay me at league, through Paypal ($22 for paypal fees, contact me for my Paypal address), mail me a check or set up a time to meet/play and pay. Payout depends on entry so I will post the payout schedule when entry closes. Payment can be made until may 15.
When?
If needed play-in matches will begin May 18 and must be completed prior to Round 1 beginning. This does cause a few people to play an extra match but who is going to complain about more golf?
In an effort to keep everything fair the last people to enter the tournament (when money is received not when you tell me you want in) will be those who are forced into play-in matches. Sign up early!
Round 1 will begin June 1 and following rounds every 2 weeks from that point. You play based on your schedule. Once rounds are posted you have 2 weeks to meet with your opponent and play. Feel free to meet with others and have your matches at the same time.
To remove any of the difficulty of choosing the course I will have them pre-selected by round. Courses will be randomly drawn. Courses included will be Wilson, JD, Beaver Island, Chestnut ridge, Emery, and Como.
Player Limit:
There is no player limit. I will accommodate everyone who wants to play.
The first round will be randomly drawn. If play-in matches are required the tournament will begin May 18 for those play-ins. Otherwise June 1 is the beginning of the tournament.
Handicap System:
The most current ratings will always be used. The lower players rating will be subtracted from the higher players rating and divided by 10. This will give the number of mulligans the lower ranked player receives per 18 holes. .5+ will round up. .4 and lower rounds down for strokes.
ex. Player 1 is rated 950 - Player 2 900. 950 - 900 = 50. 50/10 = 5 mulligans
1 Mulligan can be used per shot. A shot can not be retaken twice
Women playing will not receive a tee advantage or extra strokes. A 900 rated woman and a 900 rated man are theoretically the same skill level so all handicaps will be based on the above system.
If for some reason you're not a current PDGA member you will take a rating as follows:
PDGA states that an advanced player is 935-970, the mean would be 953. Amateur (intermediate) is 900-935, the mean would be 918. The division in which you would play a tournament will be determined and you will get that divisions rating.
Other info:
Matches MUST be played within the 2 week period. For every day your match results are late you will have 5 points added to your player rating. Each day your results are late you will be giving away half a mulligan. These do not clear by rounds and will remain for the duration of the tournament.
Reporting Matches:
Please submit match results through this form. I will be checking results this way (not on the forums). It'll go directly to my email to be sure I don't miss any reports. Feel free to post results on the forums also so everyone can keep up with them.

Brackets:
The Bracket is at this link below and will be updated with the new results. When you sign up please be sure to also give me your phone number so that I can include it in the bracket to help you and your opponent set up matches. The bracket isn't searchable and can only be seen by people with the link from here, so there shouldn't be any issues with including a phone
