I noticed last year( and this year) that there seems to be alot of people who prefer 1 day events. I've have some open weekends in July and will gladly organize + TD some smaller 1 day tournaments, and I'm looking for suggestions on which course and format.
my thoughts :
-BYOP doubles seems to be a hit, was thinking doubles event @ JD? -I think a 1 disc tournament @ Ellicot Creek would be alot of fun -would a 1 day event at Shorewinds be a good idea? or is it better for a 2 day tournament? - keep entry fees low for all divisions? stagger them?(pros pay more than adv who pay more than int, etc)
My main goal for these is to offer alternative to PDGA events that have higher entry fees, more serious atmosphere, and require a full weekend normally vs 6 hours on a saturday. I hope that by offering cheaper option we can draw in first time tournament players and ease the transition from casual to tournament play...because from what I see there are tons of casuals in NRDG, but the number of tournament regulars stays the same year to year.
what do you guys think?
